FINANCIAL SERVICES BUREAU
The Finanacial Services Bureau is a component of the Directors Office within the Department of Corrections. The Financial Services Bureau performs all accounting, collection, and payroll functions for the department. The duties of this positions would include, but it’s not limited to:
- Perform Accounts payable and receivable duties.
- Update, maintain, and correct vendor information on State’s accounting system in accordance with IRS guidelines and state policies.
- Manage credit card charges including receipt reconciliation and review, coding and processing transations on the State’s accounting system;
- Collect, code, and maintain the department’s motor pool charges;
- Research and provide customer service to department personnel regarding general financial and specific account questions.
Applicants should have a knowledge of accounting and internal control policies, as well as Microsoft office (word/excel). They should have the ability to interpret and research accounting policies, communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with other staff members, agencies and members of public. They should hold the ability to resolve problems using critical thinking skills, adapt of changing condition and work responsibility and organize/prioritize the workload to meet continual deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS – Two-year job-related college or vocational training in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and at least 3 to 4 years job-related work experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
