Position Description Summary/Purpose:

The School of Social and Educational Sciences and General Education is accepting applications for a part-time adjunct teaching position in undergraduate Computer Literacy. Adjunct faculty members report to the Director of Computer Literacy, who serves under the direction of the Dean. Adjunct faculty members provide students with high-quality learning experiences on a semester-by-semester basis. Adjunct faculty members are expected to perform all instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of Goodwin University.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

At a minimum, the essential functions of the instructor are to:

  • Use the approved course syllabus format when creating course syllabi
  • Teach all classes according to an approved course syllabus
  • Being available to students for individual consultation
  • Assisting students with how to be successful in class
  • Communicating in a timely manner with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ensure that assigned classes are held as scheduled and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Assess student academic achievement and demonstrate modification of teaching techniques in accordance with assessment feedback and universal design of courses
  • Submit reports in an accurate and timely manner, including attendance, grades, and other related documentation
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Computer Literacy and the Dean

Education, Training and Experience:

The successful candidate should have:

  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Technology or a related discipline
  • Experience teaching Digital Literacy courses to undergraduates
  • Availability to teach on-ground classes
  • Demonstrated skill in teaching in a traditional college classroom and in an on-line environment
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in teaching undergraduates
  • Demonstrated ability to use web-based applications and learning management software
  • Demonstrated dedication to excellence in teaching and a commitment to high academic and professional standards
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
