Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs routine administrative work for the Crime Victims’ Compensation Program. Work involves reviewing and analyzing claim related information and creating and maintaining claim related files. This position may be eligible for telework up to three days per week once trained. Employees must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule, and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours. Flexible work arrangements, to include flexible work schedules and/or telework, may be considered relative to business need after training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Reviews and analyzes applications and initial information for benefits with limited instruction, direction, or review from supervisor
Utilizes the claims management system or personal computer to create, maintain and update files; generates correspondence to obtain information and performs claim-related research;
files diaries in the system and follows-up on diaries daily
Reviews and analyzes initial and subsequent information collected; reviews outgoing correspondence
Releases files to the Eligibility section
Aids and communicates with agency personnel, applicants and constituents
Maintains files and records
Performs related work as assigned
Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions
Attends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work schedule
Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information
Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity
