Overview

Example of Duties:
Under general supervision, performs accounting and clerical-administrative work to support activities of the Emergency Medical Service Billing Division of the Emergency Medical Services Department. Work involves handling the responsibility of the Non-Emergency Ambulance Billing Division efficiency and effectives of all billing and reconciliation of accounts for the Robeson County Ambulance Service; handling the responsibility for quality assurance, record maintenance and operation of the billings, data entry, filing of insurance, filing; handling sudden changes in the work environment; answering questions from co-workers; researching to find information and properly respond to inquiries. Reports to the EMS Director.

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a high school diploma and three years of experience in office assistant, secretarial, or processing assistant experience work and one to two years of supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.
  • Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants.
