In this position, you will manage the administration support, eligibility workers, case managers, transition coordinators and/or adult protective service workers for program benefits (SNAP Benefits, Medical and community-based services and long-term care) for the care of disabled and senior population.
Work will primarily be in an office environment with the possibility of some remote work with the expectation to occasionally accompany staff in-person for service delivery in the community; Oregonians’ homes or hospitals for example. Regular travel required between offices on a daily and weekly basis. Some routine overnight travel to ODHS and APD training and management meetings in Salem and elsewhere throughout the state. May require extra work hours during peak workloads to meet external deadlines and for special projects. Valid driver’s license required.
  • Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience;
    One year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or human services.
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis in conflict resolution and team building
  • Possess critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve, delegate and make decisions under pressure within limited time frames
  • Strong leadership skills not just limited to supervising others but fostering a healthy diverse and inclusive working environment
  • Flexibility in an ever-changing environment and adaptability to policy changes
  • Skill in talking to others to convey information effectively
