Overview

The Childcare Support Specialist works closely with all childcare staff members to implement accommodations for children with special needs in the childcare setting. Responsibilities include completing the intake process with parents, reading IEPs and writing accommodations plans, managing documentation and data, maintaining student files, communicating and modeling the use of specific strategies for students with frontline staff for student success in the program.

Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field and experience working with special needs, childcare or education.

Must have a working knowledge of child development, effective written and verbal communication skills and the desire to work with a diverse group of people. The ability to accurately assess and serve a variety of special needs within the childcare setting is necessary for this position. Knowledge of the Pyramid Model and First Aid, CPR & AED certification is preferred.

Pay: $22.99 per hour
