Are you ready to join a dynamic team offering work/life balance, growth opportunities, and weekends off? Killingsworth Environmental is seeking a full-time Collection Specialist to join our growing team in Matthews, NC. You will work in our Matthew’s office, Monday through Friday.

The Collections Specialist will contact customers to resolve past-due balances and work with the collection agency. You will work with a team of finance professionals in a collaborative work environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Make outbound collection calls to past-due customers to collect payments and discuss account activity.
  • Maintain and notate all appropriate information and documentation on the customer’s account status.
  • Work with third-party collections agencies.
  • Meet bi-weekly and month-end deadlines.
  • Work with internal departments to resolve payment or accounting issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of collection experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Excellent customer service and phone skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt to change.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Associate degree or vocational school training preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of collections experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
