Overview

Job Responsibilities

  • Under the purview of the division director, direct the development of a comprehensive QI process, assess agency performance, and assist programs & leaders with identification of comprehensive CQI strategies, systems monitoring processes & tracking for the mental health settlement agreement (MHSA).
  • Manage use of force and QI staff and associated improvement processes.
  • Support implementation of the division’s CQI policy.
  • Identify and complete CQI studies, assist with report writing.
  • Develop and implement qi aspects of instructional audits.
  • Ensure necessary training information and tools are available to allow staff in key roles to be fully qualified in required processes.
  • Collect & process data and information in a detailed, thorough, and scientific manner to drive meaningful QI opportunities and initiatives to closure.
  • Thorough understanding of quality improvement strategies and methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to adapt to a rapidly changing and remain in control of various projects and changing priorities.
  • Assist with development and implementation of the division’s strategic plan.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree and relevant project management experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

  • Master’s degree and 5+ years related experience required with at least three years in quality management & two years’ supervisory experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in public health or similar degree and 7+ years related experience required with 3+ years in quality management and 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of improvement science.
  • Proficiency collecting, interpreting, and presenting data.
  • Proficiency required in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Formal training in continuous process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualification: CPHQ or other quality certifications. Must have thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
