Duties

  • Serve as the Executive Director who is responsible for supervising and managing the daily operations of the Greater Kansas City Federal Executive Board.
  • Maintain productive relationships with Federal agencies in the greater Kansas City area and with city, county, state, and tribal governmental agencies.
  • Provide a forum of exchange of information, networking, and infrastructure support to the local federal agencies.
  • Provide a forum for the exchange of information between Washington, D.C., and the field.
  • Support and help strengthen the Federal Executive Board National Network.
  • Sponsor education, training, and leadership development programs based on local needs.
  • Sponsor emergency preparedness working groups and facilitate interagency emergency planning events and/or educational/training program annually with federal, tribal, state, and local government officials on emergency preparedness issues.
  • Set priorities and deadlines, identify resource requirements, and monitor progress and evaluate outcomes.

Requirements Conditions of Employment

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
  • Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
  • Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required
  • NON-BU POSITIONS (BU Code – 8888): This position is not eligible for inclusion in a bargaining unit.

Qualifications

For the GS14: You must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience in human resources at the Federal GS-13 grade level or pay band performing ALL of the following:

  • Planning, organizing, and executing events and training programs; AND
  • Maintaining oversight of special projects ensuring resolution of problems such as delays, communications obstacles that cause bottlenecks and delays in accomplishment of objectives; AND
  • Analyzing, evaluating, and/or improving the efficiency of operations; AND
  • Reviewing and distributing policy information to applicable staff members and other offices; AND
  • Building coalitions to bring about change both within and outside an organization to meet mission goals and objectives; AND
  • Coordinating meetings, events, and activities across multiple offices and stakeholder groups.

Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS 14 level.

DO NOT submit NON-Pay Impacting Action SF-50’s to include “Org Cost Center Change SF-50’s, Award SF-50’s and/or General Adjustment SF-50’s” ect. as they cannot be used to prove time-in-grade.

Relocation expenses will not be paid. Current OPM employees may qualify as an exception.
