The Grants and Contracts Accountant is responsible for the overall financial coordination and day-to-day management of all externally funded grants, contracts, and restricted funds, including all accounting, invoicing, and reporting functions. This position is responsible for assuring financial compliance with all applicable federal and state requirements as well as Oklahoma City Community College’s policies and procedures.

Minimum Education/Experience

Associates Degree in Business related field and
five (5) years full time work experience in accounting or business setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Language Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel or similar software and should be familiar with accounting software.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Typical office environment: infrequently lifting and carrying items up to 10 lbs; infrequently twisting or bending at the waist or reaching overhead; infrequently traveling between buildings on campus, talking on the telephone to staff or faculty, frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, and mouse.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Governmental or Higher Education experience

Datatel experience

Previous experience in grants and contracts

Knowledgeable in Federal Guidelines for Grants including Title 2 of the Code of Federal Regulations (2 C.F.R.200) Uniform Administrative Requirements, cost principles and audit requirements for Federal Awards as well as knowledge generally accepting accounting principles (GAAP)

Required Training

Training related to the position will be provided as necessary.

Work Hours

Work hours are from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
