As an IT Application Development – Senior Specialist, you are the technical authority for designing and building statewide enterprise application and data integration solutions for mission critical applications. You will work alongside the One Washington team and provide application integration solutions that support fundamental business functions. These include financial, budget, legislative, human resource management, and asset management for agencies throughout Washington.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design applications and data integration solutions, integrating state enterprise mission-critical applications such as AFRS, HRMS and data warehouses. Plan, architect and create standard and nonstandard interfaces to support OneWA ERP (Workday) implementation.
  • Develop code to integrate data between disparate applications built on different platforms and technologies and build integration workflows using Informatica PowerCenter, Data integration Hub (DIH), Informatica Integration Cloud Services (IICS) etc.
  • Create scripts in a variety of scripting languages such as MS Batch, Python, and VBscript to orchestrate data and application integration solutions.
  • Write and maintain code in multiple languages for web services and API’s allowing other agency systems can access statewide data stores.
  • Translate application requirements into functioning code for application integration and determine and design data integration application architecture.
  • Build and modify database objects that support application integration solutions.
  • Apply release management procedures to plan, schedule, test, and implement deployments of data and application integration solutions.
  • Provide technical consultation to portfolio projects teams and customers on the design of data and application integration solutions.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and support the agency’s enterprise integration solutions.
  • Maintain and support of the agency’s enterprise integration solutions and administer root cause analysis in response to production issues.
  • Research and explore innovative options to establish integration standards for data and application templates and processes.
  • Collaborate with OFM teams and agency customers in exploring ways to work together effectively and efficiently.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.*
  • Seven (7) years’ experience of experience in:
    • Developing applications and/or workflows in a modern language (Java, .Net, etc.).
    • Developing solutions in a Middleware environment (Informatica, MQ, etc.).
    • Developing scripts/programs that interact with SQL Server or other SQL-based database systems.
    • Working with data architecture, database management, data and application integration solutions, system integration and/or data quality.
    • Work experience in server and web-services dominated environments.
  • additional related professional experience may substitute for the
educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience engineering complex data and application integration solutions for enterprise systems.
  • Experience in enterprise systems and integration technologies and methods.
