JUVENILE PROBATION OFFICER
DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Judiciary-Court Services
HIRING RATE: Indiana Judicial Salary Schedule for Probation Officers

POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP
HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hour/week)
LOCATION OF POSITION: Elkhart County Courts Building, Elkhart
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Within County & State (please complete driving page on application)
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for completing preliminary investigations and direct supervision of assigned JUVENILE offenders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, degree in Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, or Criminal Justice
· Must possess Indiana Probation Officer Certification or able to obtain certification within six months of employment
· Indiana Youth Assessment System (IYAS) certification from IOCS, or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment
· Effective verbal and written communication skills
· Proficiency with Windows based programs
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
· Must pass drug test and background check
