Benchmark Federal Credit Union is looking for a Loan Administrator to add to our team! This is a full-time, entry-level position that will have the ability to grow within the organization.

This role will report to the Loan Manager and be responsible for assisting the Loan Department with daily loan department processes. This entails interviewing loan applicants to obtain information, retrieving credit reports, and preparing loan packet for review by the Loan Officer.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assemble and compile documents for loan closings such as insurance forms and loan disclosures.
  • Interview loan applicants to obtain personal and financial data and to assist in completing applications.
  • Record applications for loan and credit, loan information, and disbursements of funds.
  • Verify and examine information and accuracy of loan application and closing documents.
  • Contact credit bureaus, employers, and other sources to check applicants’ credit and personal references.
  • Submit loan applications with recommendation for underwriting approval.
  • Check value of customer collateral to be held as loan security.
  • Contact loan applicants to inform them of acceptance or rejection of applications.
  • File and maintain loan records.
  • Prepare loan applications, closing documents, loan disclosures, letters, forms and checks.
  • Review member accounts to determine whether payments are made on time and that other loan terms are being followed.
  • Order property insurance or mortgage insurance policies to ensure protection against loss on mortgaged property.
  • Answer questions and advise members regarding loans and transactions.
  • Present loan and repayment schedules to customers.
  • Schedule and conduct closings of Real Estate transactions.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or GED; degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred.
  • Previous collection experience in a financial institution preferred.
  • Must have strong communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Proficient computer experience including MS office and ability and willingness to learn Credit Union programs including ESOCAR, CUNA Mutual, Pega Reach, Host Link, Symitar, Temenos and Accurant.
