Position Summary Information

General Information
Member Services Assistants provide a welcoming atmosphere while working at the UREC Welcome Center, Equipment Center and UPARK Gatehouse and serve as information agents of UREC by promoting UREC programs, services and facilities.

Attendance and active involvement at New Hire and Common Training sessions mandatory.
Attendance and active involvement at staff meetings and in-service training as required.
Training for this position begins in December.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Monitor participants’ facility access including, but not limited to, swiping JAC’s, recording guest/visitor passes, issuing courtesy visits and answering participant questions.
2. Facilitate membership transactions through Micros and Fusion.
3. Assist participants at the Welcome Center with program registration and payment.
Assist participant with towel and locker contract processes.
Assist in the rental of in and out of house equipment at the Equipment Center and University Park Gatehouse.
4. Communicate proper entry procedures, facility policies and building hours to all campus and community guests.
5. Become familiar with all components of UREC’s service ethic, mission, vision and values.
6. Average hours per week* (including finals week): 8-12 hours per week. Work weekends shifts as part of your assigned team. *Work during break sessions may be a requirement of this position.
7. Activate the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) in case of a facility or medical emergency.


Conditions of Employment

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
