Martin Gmbh services the energy-from-waste (EfW) industry by providing engineering, design, consulting, planning, and general contracting services. In addition, it manufactures and installs products for boiler systems; and offers plant modernization, equipment overhaul, repair, and maintenance services. Further, the company engages in research and development activities. Martin GmbH has been serving the North American market for over 30 years and its newly formed subsidiary –(MET) – will expand its support to the EfW and renewable energy markets with its local presence.

Position Overview

The Sales Order Coordinator will be responsible for MET’s sales backlog management activities as well as support any administrative/commercial aspects of our service parts requirements with a focus in providing best customer service to our customers.

General Responsibilities

· Responsible for processing incoming customer purchase orders, with attention to any deviations from terms and conditions stated in technical proposal provided.

· Responsible for providing timely responses to customers’ inquiries

· Responsible for placing purchase orders to internal and external vendors to support open backlog and/or inventory strategy execution

· Generate and communicate sales order acknowledgments with accurate pricing and delivery dates

· Act as the main contact person for the customer during the order/project delivery cycle (customer PO receipt to final delivery of the order/project)

· Manage sales backlog by interacting with customers, vendors, and internal team members, keep in mind different timelines and steps required for proper order fulfilment

· Work with carriers/transportation companies in shipment scheduling and transportation cost estimation

· Provides support for other administrative activities as required, including proposal preparation, packing list, receiving operations, and accounting activities.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Working closely with staff to ensure office and warehouse efficiency

· Supporting management with customized reports.

· Working with vendors to resolve disputes or discrepancies

· Communicating with the corporate home office support personnel located in Munich Germany


· Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred. As a minimum, a High School diploma is required with a minimum of 2 years of sales order/purchase order/backlog management, preferably at the Industrial/Engineering business areas.

· Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (specially excel) as well as the ability to learn inventory management software Fishbowl

· Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

· Must have strong written and oral communication skills

· Must have a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills

· Strong desire for continued growth and learning

· Attention to detail and follow-up skills are critical

· Experience in international contact with customers and/or vendors is a plus
