Overview
Sanitation Equipment Operator II – Under limited supervision, operates sanitation vehicle to collect residential and commercial refuse or bulk waste on designated routes and assists in completion of all routes; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Sanitation Equipment Operator III – Under limited supervision, operates sanitation vehicle to collect residential and commercial refuse or bulk waste on designated routes and assists in completion of all routes; and performs other related duties as assigned.

$20.61 hourly
Sanitation Equipment Operator II – pay grade 49
$21.66 hourly
Sanitation Equipment Operator III – pay grade 51

Sanitation Equipment Operator I – Tenth (10) grade education and one (1) year of related work experience in any one (1) of the three (3) sanitation work groups: residential, commercial, or bulk waste, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid State of Florida Commercial driver’s license, Class B is required.
Sanitation Equipment Operator II – Tenth (10) grade education and eighteen (18) months of related work experience in any two (2) of the three (3) sanitation work groups: residential, commercial or bulk waste, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid State of Florida Commercial driver’s license, Class B is required.
Sanitation Equipment Operator III – Tenth (10) grade education and two (2) years of related work experience in any three (3) of the three (3) sanitation work groups: residential, commercial or bulk waste, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid State of Florida Commercial driver’s license, Class B is required.

Driving Requirements:
State of Emergency: When normal operations of City departments are suspended or interrupted due to a declaration by the Mayor that a state of emergency exists, all employees will be deemed critical by the City. For the preparation and/or continuation of emergency operations or for special work detail, employees deemed necessary shall be required to work. Employees deemed critical by the City but not needed for the initial preparation and/or continuation of emergency operations or for special work detail may be directed not to report to work, and given paid administrative leave or they may be reassigned to another location that best meet the needs of the City.
