Overview

The Senior System Administrator role will be responsible for configuration and maintenance of the company’s computer systems and networks.

This role is responsible for administering system & network technologies to ensure a secure and efficient operating environment. Maintain essential IT operations, including Desktop, laptop server operating systems, security tools, applications, and email systems.

Configure and Support dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s secure and operational

Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements

Primary Duties

  • Establish, maintain, and implement baseline and industry benchmarks for workstations and servers in a Microsoft environment.
  • Perform system and server administration tasks, including AD user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research, and remediate event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitor operating environment using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed
  • Securely configure, Install, maintain, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software for local and remote users
  • Securely configure and manage Identity management systems and VPN applications for the organization.
  • Develop and manage patch management programs for Windows workstations, laptops, and servers.
  • Manage and maintain System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune
  • Identify security risks and challenges and collaborate with departments to implements security actions as needed.
  • Maintain and assist with internal infrastructure requirements including, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, and network segments
  • Interact with the help desk and other teams to troubleshoot, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
  • Assist in maintenance, administration, and development of the SAN environment.
  • Work in a hybrid environment including on-site and from home

Minimum Educational/Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems / Computer Science / Business or equivalent
  • 5 Years Information Systems experience in Systems Administration
  • Exceptional knowledge in administering windows computing environments, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Group Policies, SCCM and Intune.

Minimum Skill Qualifications

  • Experience with or knowledge of operating systems; current equipment and technologies, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, VPN technologies, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
  • Experience working in and maintaining O365 environments
  • Experience in Hardware and Software inventory management
  • Experience managing and maintaining Active Directory
  • Experience managing and maintaining Group Policy Objects (GPO)
  • In depth understanding of security controls and configurations for network and servers
  • Strong Security focus and awareness to ensure all systems are secure.
  • Ability to work with all levels of IT staff inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to think through problems and develop solutions.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary.
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, and face-to-face).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Windows, DUO, Intune, CISCO AnyConnect, Microsoft Active Directory, Citrix, VMWare, and SAN technologies
  • Experience maintaining a Wide Area Network and Local Area Network
  • Working knowledge in the following:

    • Security and Monitoring.
    • Account Access Management.
    • IoT/Mobile Device Management.
