Overview

Rockaway Township is currently seeking a Seasonal Camp Director. This individual will hire staff for the summer, schedule activities and trips and order supplies. The Camp Director will work closely with the Division of Recreation, develop recreational programs and oversee day to day operation during camp. The selected individual will oversee camp counselors, which may include assessing work performance and taking disciplinary measures when necessary. The Camp Director is responsible for the overall camp safety and program implementations while also handling the camp administrative activities. The selected candidate will evaluate camp programs at camp end and conduct surveys as well as keep accurate records of budget, activities and reports.

The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience of camp administration experience, have strong leadership and organizational skills. Good computer, verbal, written and customer service skills are a must. The selected candidate will be highly organized, attentive to details, and a problem solver. Individuals will be familiar with Microsoft Office Applications. The chosen applicant will have proven experience in multi-tasking and prioritizing projects, as well as have the ability to work independently. Must have a valid NJ driver’s license.
