Overview

The East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine (ECU SoDM) integrates reports using custom-developed synthesis of the data from the four different areas. These four distinct system areas that contribute to the student evaluations are (1) didactic testing, (2) clinical procedure tracking, (3) rubric-based skills assessment and (4) rubric-based project/paper assessment. The Testing and Outcomes Analysis Specialist coordinates and participates in the successful implementation, integration, maintenance, training and ongoing support for the systems involved with student exams and assessments. The Testing and Outcomes Analysis Specialist reports directly to the Director of Course Management in the Office of Dental Education and Informatics.

Specific Duties Include:

Documents, tests, implements, validates and utilizes a variety of assessment systems used to evaluate student performance.
Manages internally-created custom analysis platform, which reports the different views of outcomes data.
Management of the didactic exam platform, which requires comprehensive understanding of the ECU SoDM custom coding environment. Plans, codes, validates, and analyzes faculty-created weekly exams.
Codes and validates faculty-generated rubrics for report-based and skills-based assessments.
Implements data management procedures and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinates assessment activities with Course Managers and faculty members.
Utilizes the technology to create and run specialized reports for faculty and administrators.
Applies project planning and project management methodologies for assigned projects.
Analyzes data flow and develops and implements integration plans to improve data integrity and process flow. This may involve the creation of macros and/or integration scripts.
Coordinates with vendors, key users and technical staff to identify integration requirements and the impact of software upgrades on those requirements.
Applies system upgrades as they become available.

Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution. Minimum of two years experience with educational testing and instructional design. Advanced knowledge of learning management systems, learning content management systems, survey creation and implementation of computer-hosted systems

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Master’s degree in related Educational Discipline.
