SUMMARY

Warehouse Specialist will perform a full range of warehousing activities, including management of gear and equipment, storing, issuing, reconstitution, sewing/tailoring (as required by location), inventorying and shipping bulk and individual materials and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Perform a full range of warehousing activities
  • Conducts accurate packing and shipping of material
  • Receiving and filling customer orders.
  • Picking merchandise from warehouse shelves, packing merchandise, checking packed merchandise against orders for accuracy, and keeping track of inventory and shipments.
  • Loading and unloading of materials and products as needed.
  • Organizing inventory as outlined in the warehouse inventory procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2-year experience in performing warehouse duties, such as packing, shipping, receiving, filling customer orders, picking merchandise from warehouse shelves, packing merchandise, checking packed merchandise against orders for accuracy, and keeping track of inventory and shipments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of inventory control systems.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, such as lifting up to 30 lbs, bending and standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a variety of tools.
  • Experience using warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and handcarts.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines and practices.
  • Proven knowledge of using Warehouse Management System for inventory management and control.
  • Proven knowledge of managing workload for multiple warehouse operations.
  • Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
    On Tuesday, Dec. 7, a federal judge issued an injunction blocking President Joe Biden’s COVID 19 vaccine mandate for federal contractors. Cherokee Federal is monitoring the court case and awaiting a final ruling. As a result of the injunction, Cherokee Federal is halting the enforcement of the mandate, however, if the injunction is lifted and the mandate remains, Cherokee Federal must reenact its vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be performed in a warehouse environment.
